Best.Pizza.Ever!

Hey everyone! Nothing interesting has been happening to me lately, and that's why I haven't been posting! I finally have enough to post!

First will be the best pizza I've had in my life. My friend (and Nicole's) Amanda and I were looking for some pizza before we went to the She & Him concert in Philly (yeah, we went too!). So she looked online and found a place a few blocks from her apartment. We went to Pietro's Coal Oven Pizza and ordered the large pepperoni pizza. What came to our table looked soooo good, and tasted even better. It had a very fresh sauce, fresh buffalo mozzarella, small, thick pepperoni, and fresh basil. It was so good, we ate the whole thing! It was like we were in Italy, it was that good!

Another tasty meal I've had recently I made! It was a Rachael Ray recipe. We had chicken thighs on hand, so I searched Rachael's website and found a Chinese Orange-Barbecue Cashew Chicken. I had most of the other ingredients on hand, and it was very easy to make. I was very happy when I tasted it... it genuinely tasted like Chinese food! I only substituted one ingredient: soy sauce for tamari.

Like I said, I also went to see She & Him! I had no clue Nicole was seeing it, so it's just a coincidence. I saw them at Great Plaza at Penn's Landing in Philly. The weather was perfect, low 70's into the night. It started at 8pm. The opener was ok, a little bit too mild for the audience. Is it bad that I don't even remember her name?

She & Him came out by about 9:15, and they were great! Very upbeat and fun, just how I thought it would be! They played until about 10:30.

And finally, did everyone have a good 4th of July? I had a great time! It was really hot, but luckily I have a pool, so I floated the day away. For dessert, I made a poke cake. They're easy to make! You bake a boxed cake, then cool. Use a fork to poke holes in the cake, then pour over liquid jello and chill for three hours. Finally, add the frosting (which is pudding mix, milk and cool whip) and I decorated mine to look like an American flag. Very tasty and patriotic!

You can see how the jello seeps into the cake. Yum!

I'll be visiting Nicole this weekend, so I'm sure you will see a great post of all that we've done!

  1. That pizza looks like it would be heavenly. I am a crust girl, it is all about the crust, and that one looks like it'd be to die for!
