Ah, the end of summer!

I am finally admitting that summer is ending. It's sad in some ways, but I'm also happy for it to be over. The fall brings many holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and my birthday! I love these three holidays and can't wait to make holiday-themed food. I like the chill in the air and the leaves changing. It's a great time of year!

Some things I'll miss... one is definitely being able to do anything I want. Going back to work is bittersweet. I'm excited to be working again, but also kind of sad because I still have not found a full-time job yet. I got to forget about all of that when going to Hershey Park on Saturday. I hadn't been there in a couple of years, so it was lots of fun! They have 11 coasters, and I'm pretty sure I rode most, if not all of them. They also have a small zoo that is great to go to after lunch to digest. I wasn't up to having greasy food, so I had a greek salad, and it was really good! Actually, the real reason I had the salad was that later in the day, I knew I was getting a frozen cocoa. It tasted just like hot chocolate, just frozen! It was delicious!

I'm also going to miss something us Philly residents call "water ice." The rest of the world probably knows it as Italian ice. The Rita's Ice chain has tons of stores in the area, and over 50 flavors! They always come out with a few new flavors every year. This year there was Peeps flavor, Butterscotch Krimpet, and cranberry. I tried the cranberry yesterday, and it was great! Also, this time of year, they have a pumpkin pie flavor, which is amazing, especially if you get it mixed with nilla wafer pieces! But alas, they close in October, not to open again until March or April next year.

What will you miss about summer, and what are you looking forward to in fall?
